A century after the disaster of Smyrna comes to life the critically acclaimed and moving drama about an elderly Greek American woman whose family diary recounts the 1922 burning of the cosmopolitan city of Smyrna where Greeks, Turks, Jews, Armenians and Levantines once lived together harmoniously. Added value includes a special bonus feature that includes behind the scenes of the making-of Smyrna with exclusive talent interviews and a live performance of select songs from the original Smyrna soundtrack with world famous singer Alkistis Protopsalti and other music artists. Phillip and his mother Cyndi, the real-life people that inspired the film, share how the foundation PHILLIP’S WISH was started when Phillip was 7 years old and what the foundation is still doing today. What began as 400 blankets collected, grew over a few years to over 20,000 blankets along with hundreds of hats, scarves, gloves, sleeping bags, toiletries, and thousands of toys for those in need. Phillip’s Wish, that no one would be cold or uncared for… became a reality.
